Have a Dream but Don’t Know Where to Start?

here are 5 steps to get you started

You have so many ideas and so much excitement about the dream living inside you. You can hardly wait to dive in and get busy, but where to begin?

too many ideas or no ideas at all

?

Maybe you have lots of ideas, but they seem too vague to act upon, and you don’t know how to take the first step. Or perhaps you’ve only glimpsed the Dream, and figuring out how to get there seems an impossible task.

here are a few next steps

:

  1. Write a clear statement of what your Dream is and why you’re pursuing it
  1. Think of three or four big ideas that you can implement in a few months
  1. Brainstorm a list of ways to get them done
  1. Cut that list down to only the most effective and profitable
  1. Setup a system for yourself to stay on top of those details

thinking

“I can’t do that”?

Depending on where you are in your journey and how you work, these steps could be hard. That’s okay!

Is writing your dream down hard?

We understand that. It can be hard to find the language to put something you feel into words. Spend some time asking yourself direct questions about your dream. To get some ideas on what those questions should be check out our dream workbook.

  • Thinking of three or four big ideas challenging?

What are the things you would love to do?What would make you excited and motivated? What unique skills and gifts could you use to reach your dream?

  • Is brainstorming a list of ways to get them done overwhelming?

Look around for inspiration. Look at what others are doing or not doing. Do some research in blogs, magazines and books. Give yourself freedom to dream and think outside the box.

  • Is cutting down the list hard?

You can’t do it all and you shouldn’t. Some ideas are going to give you better results than others. Cut your list down to the best 20%. It may feel dramatic and like you are going to miss out on some great ideas but you’re going to feel less overwhelmed trying to accomplish it.

  • Is setting up a system hard?

Find one system that feels comfortable to you. It could be digital or physical but it needs to fit into how you work. Make sure you put everything into the system. It may be a lot of work up front but it’s going to pay off in the end. Only add deadlines and priorities to things that absolutely need it.
